Lock Lane Apartments
The Lock Lane Apartments, built in 1932, are perhaps the best example in central Virginia of an early 20th century garden apartment. Commonwealth Architects rehabilitated the existing buildings and incorporated additions or expansions where possible, while still meeting the guidelines of the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation. Unique aspects of this project include a pool, replacement of a parking lot with a new central courtyard with pergola, eight new townhouse units, lush landscaping and high end kitchens with granite.
