Marking the first place the Virginia Company landed in the new country before settling in Jamestown, First Landing State Park, originally built in the 1930s, is Virginia’s most visited. The new visitor’s center is anticipated to feature approximately 1,050 square feet of theatre-style meeting space for up to 150 people and approximately 1,000 square feet of exhibit space, along with space for office, storage, restrooms and a warming kitchen for catered events. In addition, the building is seeking LEED certification.
