MeadWestvaco New Headquarters

Commonwealth Architects, in association with Perkins+Will, designed the interior for MeadWestvaco's new 11-story, 300,000 square-foot headquarters in downtown Richmond.

The design addresses collaboration through an open office environment, by incorporating the use of huddle rooms and various work dynamics, including an open pantry and "Idea Alley," an informal team meeting area, throughout the space. Low workstation height, glass front offices and conference rooms bring light through the space and expand views to the city and James River. Most enclosed offices are located away from the building perimeter, so that the window wall is open to associates.
