Virginia Union University Belgian Building
Designed for the 1939 New York World’s Fair and relocated to Virginia Union due to the Nazi invasion of Belgium, Commonwealth Architects conducted a comprehensive conservation study to this National Historic Landmark. Due to the temporary nature of the building’s construction, the team determined the best way to repair and maintain this important monument to modernism, and plan for its future use as academic and support space.
