Virginia Military Institute Commandant’s Quarters
Commonwealth Architects is restoring the ca. 1850 Maury House (now called the Commandant’s Quarters) on the historic Parade Grounds of the VMI Post. Serving as the home to VMI’s Commandant, the project seeks to restore the building to its historic appearance, while updating the building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) which are out-of-date, and in some cases at the end of their useful life. Prior to its restoration, a feasibility study was conducted, which included detailed building and building systems analysis, recommendations for repair, and pricing for all recommendations.
