University of Richmond T.C Williams School of Law

The University of Richmond engaged Commonwealth Architects to assist them with a conceptual study for the possible expansion of the T. C. Williams School of Law. Commonwealth Architects met with representatives of the law school faculty, students & staff to understand the program requirements and aspirational goals the school had for the future.

A careful rethinking of the existing facility was undertaken to understand its potential, and once understood, Commonwealth Architects presented the University with several schematic design options, ultimately helping them select the right model for future expansion. The addition, which would provide needed faculty offices and house the law school's clinical programs, was designed in the collegiate gothic style to blend in with the original buildings of the Ralph Cram-designed campus.
