August 16, 2011
Commonwealth Architects is pleased to welcome two new team members to the firm.
Anne Vig joins the firm as an architectural designer. Her primary focus has been in the design of new sports facilities and recreation centers for universities and municipalities. In addition, she brings experience in the adaptive reuse of historic buildings into residential developments. With more than 12 years of experience in the practice of architecture, she holds a bachelor of architecture degree from Virginia Tech.
Tyler Carter joins the firm as an architectural designer. In his position, he will be responsible for schematic design, design development, and construction document phases for a range of projects. Mr. Carter recently earned a bachelor of architecture degree from The University of Tennessee. As a student, he participated in the design/build team for the 2011 Solar Decathlon, an international competition of energy efficient modular houses. UT's "Living Light" entry was selected as one of 20 finalists to be constructed for the Solar Decathlon Competition in Washington, DC, this fall.
"The expansion of our architectural professionals bolsters our ability to respond to the growth in demand for our services as the architecture profession recovers from the worst recession in recent memory. Our new designers will play a role in sustaining the high level of quality and service we provide for our clients," said Dominic Venuto, a principal at Commonwealth Architects.
