Commonwealth Architects Creates Scholarship Fund at VSU
April 19, 2010
Commonwealth Architects has established a new scholarship fund to benefit the School of Engineering, Science and Technology at Virginia State University in Petersburg, Va. The scholarship will award $1,000 annually to a junior or senior with financial need who is preparing for a profession in engineering.
The Richmond architecture firm is building on its scholarship program that began three years ago to award $1,000 annually to a graduate student at each of Virginia's three Schools of Architecture: Virginia Tech, the University of Virginia and Hampton University. The most recent scholarship at VSU marks the first annual award to an undergraduate student and the first for a student of engineering given by Commonwealth Architects.
Scholarships are awarded to students with financial need who demonstrate outstanding academic performance, design excellence and professional promise.
