Ginter Place

Commonwealth Architects provided full architectural and engineering services for the adaptive reuse of this former urban hospital complex into a project of mixed uses. This series of hospital structures is located within a State and National Historic District and, therefore, was eligible for investment tax credits through the Virginia Department of Historic Resources. The firm assisted the client through the application process to obtain the appropriate Tax Credits

The eight story international style main hospital structure was constructed in 1952 and was attached to the richly detailed former Bryan Mansion built at the turn of the century. It is anticipated that this mixed use project will include up to 69 condominiums with balconies, and 24 new townhouses to be built on the out parcels of this property. A special function and community room, a wellness center, indoor parking and potential office space are all part of the redevelopment.
